Pairs were drawn to ensure players that had bowled a bit were paired with others that had never graced the green, which made for a competitive afternoon. There were ends that looked like they were bowled by seasoned professionals, whilst others looked like a depiction of the solar system - with all planets a safe distance from the sun.

After some nip and tuck games and despite the best efforts of the weather, the final was contested by the pairing of Alex Green and Lewis Beasty against Matty Piper and Steve Fletcher. The latter were crowned as Champions and took the spoils of a bottle of wine each and with no expense spared, a brand new pair of bowls (see catalogue pic). They agreed to take one home each :-)
